For the next eight weeks, Pound Shop Wars viewers will be invited behind the scenes at our head office and will see exactly what goes on in our stores and at our huge distribution centre based in Wakefield, West Yorkshire. This latest peek inside the UK’s biggest discount retailer will feature everyone’s favourite characters from the previous series, including Poundworld CEO Chris Edwards and his entertaining mother Alice, as well as some fabulous new faces.
Chris said: “We’re all looking forward to the next series of Pound Shop Wars and we had no idea when we started filming the first series that it would be such a hit with millions of viewers every week. Who knew watching us at our day jobs could provide entertainment to so many people – thank you to everyone who tuned in!
“A lot has changed at Poundworld since the last series of Pound Shop Wars so it’ll be good to update viewers on our progress and let them get to know the people who make it all possible.”
Previous episodes have seen the Edwards family flogging their sell-out £1 comfort bras, going head-to-head with competitors and opening new stores – giving viewers a unique insight into the workings of a UK high street giant.
In series two of Pound Shop Wars, CEO and former market stall trader Chris Edwards is back with ambitious plans for expansion while his 87-year-old mum Alice tries to keep up with the latest products and get up to speed with new technology. They’re joined by a colourful cast of Poundworld stars who are all driven by the desire to win the battle to squeeze the biggest profit from a quid. No prisoners will be taken in the fight for the pound shop crown.
With thoroughly entertaining characters and things not always going to plan, Pound Shop Wars makes great midweek viewing!
